Pesto (Italian: [ˈpesto]; Ligurian: [ˈpestu]) or, in extenso, pesto alla genovese (Italian pronunciation: [ˈpesto alla dʒenoˈveːze; -eːse]), is a sauce oreeginatin in Genoa, the caipital ceety o Ligurie, Italy.[1] It tradeetionally conseests o crushed garlic, European pine nits, coarse saut, basil leaves, Parmigiano-Reggiano (Parmesan cheese) an pecorino sardo (cheese made frae sheep's milk), aw blendit wi olive ile.[2]
