Persepolis (Greek, leeterally meanin "the Persie ceety"),[2] an aa kent as Takht-e-Jamshid (Modren Persie: تخت جمشید, leeterally meanin "the throne o Jamshid"), wis the ceremonial caipital o the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 550–330 BC).
