A peninsula (Laitin: peninsula, "paene-": almaist + "insular": island) is a piece o land that is bordered bi watter on three sides but connectit tae mainland.[1] The surroondin watter is uisually unnerstuid tae belang tae a single, contiguous body,[2][3] but is nae always explicitly defined as such.[4]
