Ozone layer

Ozone-oxygen cycle in the ozone layer.
The ozone layer or ozone shield is a region o Yird's stratosphere that absorbs maist o the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It contains heich concentrations o ozone (O3) in relation tae ither pairts o the atmosphere, awtho still smaw in relation tae ither gases in the stratosphere. The ozone layer conteens less nor 10 pairts per million o ozone, while the average ozone concentration in Yird's atmosphere as a whole is aboot 0.3 pairts per million. The ozone layer is mainly foond in the lawer portion o the stratosphere, frae approximately 20 tae 30 kilometres (12 tae 19 mi) abuin Earth, awtho its thickness varies saisonally an geografically.[1]
