The New Oxford American Dictionary (NOAD) is a single-volume dictionar o American Inglis compiled bi American editors at the Oxford University Press.

NOAD is based upon the New Oxford Dictionary of English (NODE), published in the United Kinrick in 1998, awtho wi substantial editin, additional entries, an the inclusion o illustrations. It is based on a corpus linguistics analysis o Oxford's 200 million wird database o contemporary American Inglis.

NOAD includes a diacritical respelling scheme tae convey pronunciations, as opposed tae the Gimson phonemic IPA seestem that is uised in NODE.
