Nürburg (German pronunciation: [ˈnʏʁbʊʁk]) is a toun in the German destrict o Ahrweiler, in the state o Rhineland-Palatinate. It is the name o the local castle, Nürburg Castle an aw, which wis built in the Heich Middle Ages. The name is derivit frae Laitin niger, meanin "black", an Heich German burg, meanin "castle". The castle is made o basalt which uisually haes black color. The well-kent 24-kilometre (15 mi) racin track Nürburgring is nearbi.
