In biology, moutin, also known as sheddin, or in mony invertebrates, ecdysis, is the manner in which an ainimal routinely casts off a pairt o its bouk (eften, but nae always, an ooter layer or coverin), either at speceefic times o the year, or at speceefic pynts in its life cycle.
