Moont Tahat (Arabic: جبل تاهات‎) is the heichest moontain peak in Algerie. It sits at an elevation o 2,908 metres (9,541 ft)[4][5]. Ither soorces indicate an elevation of 3,003 metres (9,852 ft)[6]. Tahat is an aw the heichest peak in the Hoggar Moontains. Its nearest ceety is Tamanrasset which is locatit 56 km tae the sooth.

Moont Tahat is o volcanic oreegin. It is locatit in an arid, rocky heich plateau aurie o the central Sahara Desert. The Tuareg inhabit this region. Tae the north lie the Tassili n'Ajjer moontains, which contain cave paintings dating frae a period atween 8000 an 2000 BC. The rock art is pastoral, showing cattle breeding an hunting o animals that are today exclusively foond in the soothren Sahara's climate.
