Metaphase (frae the Greek μετά, "adjacent" an φάσις, "stage") is a stage o mitosis in the eukaryotic cell cycle in that chromosomes are at thair seicont-maist condensed an coiled stage (thay are at thair maist condensed in anaphase).[1]
