Loanheid's a wee toun in south-east Scotland, wi a population o' seventy hunner (or there aboot). It's tae the south-and-east of Edinburgh, near tae Lasswade, Bonnyrigg, Birdiehouse, Straiton, Bilston – and a wee patch further afield, tae Dalkeith, tae Roslin and tae Penicuik. The toun were foundit on coal, shale an' paper-mills. The day, it's best known for its Gala Day ("Children's Day" also cried).
