La Florida (Spaingie pronunciation: [la floˈɾiða], Spaingie for "the flouery") is a suburban commune o Chile locatit in the Sooth East o Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region. It is a residential aurie an its inhabitants are maistly members o a new middle an upper-middle cless. It ranks nummer 12 oot o 346 amang Chilean communes in terms o Human Development Index.[6] Its mayor is Rodolfo Carter (UDI)

Accordin tae the 2002 census o the Naitional Statistics Institute, La Florida spans an aurie o 70.8 km2 (27 sq mi) an haes 365,674 inhabitants (176,245 men an 189,429 weemen). O these, 365,563 (100%) livit in urban auries an 111 (0%) in landwart auries. It currently haes amaist 400,000 inhabitants, which maks it the third maist populous commune in Chile.
