Kékes [ˈkeːkɛʃ] is Hungary's heichest moontain, at 1,015 metres (3,330 ft) abuin sea level.[1] It lies 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northeast o Gyöngyös,[2] in the Mátra range o Heves coonty. It is Hungary's third maist popular tourist attraction, aifter Loch Balaton an the Danube, an haes a nummer o hotels an skiing pistes. The Kékestető TV Touer staunds at the summit.

The name Kékes is derivit frae the moontain's eften bluish colour. In Hungarian, the word kék means 'blue', while kékes means implicitly 'bluish'.
