Irvine (/ˈɜːrvn/ UR-vyn) is an affluent ceety in Orange Coonty, Californie, Unitit States. It is a planned ceety; the Irvine Company stairtit developing the aurie in the 1960s. Formally incorporatit on December 28, 1971, the 66-square-mile (170 km2) ceety[11] haed a population o 212,375 as of the 2010 census; in 2016 the ceety's population wis 258,386.[7] In 2016, Irvine acame the lairgest ceety in the continental Unitit States wi an Asie American plurality, constitutin aroond 45% o the ceety's population.[12]
