The hertz (seembol Hz) is the unit o frequency in the Internaitional Seestem o Units (SI). It is defined as the nummer o cycles per seicont o a periodic phenomenon.[1] Ane o its maist common uises is the description o the sine wave, particularly those uised in radio an audio applications, such as the frequency o muisical tones. The unit is named for Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, who wis the first tae conclusively prove the existence o electromagnetic waves.
