Descreeption
English: Statue of Lady Wulfruna Lady Wulfruna, or Wulfrun to use the correct Anglo-Saxon pronunciation of her name is said to provide the origin of Wolverhampton's name. She is believed to have been the grand-daughter of King Ethelred I and Queen Aethelflaed (daughter of King Alfred the Great). This statue of her, sculpted by Sir Charles Wheeler, is on the steps at the west end of St. Peter's Church.
