Vinteren 1201-2 kom Kong Sverre og hans Birkebeinere til Tønsberg hvor de i 20 uker beleiret Baglerne som søkte tilflukt i festningen på Slottsfjellet. I dag er det bare ruiner tilbake av det gamle kongssetet.

Kanskje stod Kong Sverre selv her i Frodeåsen for å speide på Baglerne?

In 1201-2 Tønsberg (Tunsberg in those days) were laid siege to by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sverre_of_Norway">King Sverre</a> as part of the power struggle between the Bagler and Birkebeiner camps. He might have stood here on Frodeåsen to get a good view of the defenses at the small but steep Slottsfjellet mountain in the middle of town.
