Прямоугольное полотнище, с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, состоящее из двух горизонтальных полос — белого цвета (вверху) и зелёного цвета (внизу, шириной 1/4 ширины полотнища);

На полотнище — фигуры герба города Малгобек:

В центре белой полосы вверху — солярный знак красного цвета, ниже него — летящий к древку орёл чёрного цвета;

В центре зелёной полосы — капля чёрного цвета

Внесён в Государственный геральдический регистр Российской Федерации с присвоением регистрационного номера 8397.
