Erythropoietin (frae Greek: ἐρυθρός, erythros 'reid' an ποιεῖν, poiein 'mak'), an aa kent as EPO, hematopoietin, or hemopoietin, is a glycoprotein hormone that controls erythropoiesis, or reid bluid cell production.
