The Aibbey[1] (English: Dundrennan, Gaelic: Dun Droighnein) is a clachan in the historical coonty o Kirkcoubrieshire in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. It is aboot 5 mile east o Kirkcoubrie. Its population is aboot 230.[citation needit] It is maist kenspeckle for the ruins o Dundrennan Abbey, a 12t-century Cisterican monastery. The wappens-testin estaiblishment Dundrennan Range is nearby an aw.[citation needit]

On 18 Julie 1944 at 12:15 am, on a nicht-trainin exerceese fae RAF Carlisle, Crosby-on-Eden, a RAF Beaufighter rummisht intil a hoose in the main street. Fower members o the Hamilton faimily dee'd alang wi the twa airmen.[1]
