Don Juan (Spaingie), Don Giovanni (Italian) is a legendary, feectional libertine. The first written version o the Don Juan legend wis written bi the Spaingie dramatist Tirso de Molina (nom de plume o Gabriel Téllez).[1] His play, El burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra (The Trickster o Seville an the Stane Guest), wis set in the fowerteent century an published in Spain aroond 1630. The name "Don Juan" is a common metaphor for a "womaniser".
