Cruachan [kroo-a-kon] is a Pagan Metal baund frae Dublin, Ireland that has been active since the 1990s. They hae been acclaimed as having "gone the greatest lengths of anyone in their attempts to expand" the genre of fowk metal. They are recognised as ane o the founders of the genre of fowk metal. With a specific focus on Celtic muisic an the use o Celtic mythology in their lyrics, Cruachan's style of fowk metal is known as Celtic metal. The baund named themselves after the archaeological site o Rathcroghan in Ireland also kent as Cruachan.
