Chimay (French pronunciation: [ʃimɛ], Walloon: Chimai) is a ceety an municipality o Wallonie locatit in the province o Hainaut, Belgium.^[2] In 2006, Chimay haed a population o 9,774. The area is 197.10 km² that gies a population density o 50 indwaller per km². It is the soorce o the Oise River.

In the admeenistrative destrict o Thuin, the municipality wis creatit wi a merger o 14 commune in 1977. The Trappist monastery o Scourmont Aibey in the toun is kenspeckle fur the Chimay Brewery.
