Chewa, an aa kent as Nyanja, is a leid o the Bantu leid faimily. The gender prefix chi- is uised for leids,[3] sae the leid is an aa kent as Chichewa an Chinyanja (spelled Cinyanja in Zambie), an locally Nyasa in Mozambique.
