Cherrapunji (the historic name Sohra is mair commonly uised, an alternative spellins are Cherrapunjee an Charrapunji) is a subdiveesional toun in the East Khasi Hills destrict in the Indie state o Meghalaya. It is the tradeetional caipital o the Nongkhlaw hima (Khasi tribal chieftainship constitutin a petty state) kent as Sohra or Churra.
