The Château de Compiègne is an umwhile ryal residence in the oun o Compiègne, in Fraunce. The first royal residence was built in 1374 for Keeng Charles V o Fraunce, till it wis modernised an expandit during the ring o Louis XV. It also served as a residence o Napoleon while he wis Emperor. In the rings o Louis XIV an Louis XV, it wis ane o the o three seats o ryal government, the others being Versailles and Fontainebleau. It is locatit in Compiègne in the Oise department an is open tae the public.
