Brig o Dee

The Brig o Dee is a road bridge ower the River Dee in Aiberdeen, Scotland. It was buildit in 1527.[1] It wis whaur the auld drover's gate Causey Mounth crossit the Dee. There wis a battle o Brig o Dee in 1639, atween Royalists and the Covenanters, wha wir led bi William Keith, Great Marischal, an is a historic site.[2] A poem wis screived aboot the battle:

Muskies mother [a large cannon] has made a vow
That she will take her venter [dare to go],
And thunder throughe (the) brige of Dee
Led by a Covenanter.
The Covenanters that ye see
Come marching alongest the grein [open grassy ground],
Wer not for feare of God they say,
They wold plounder Aberdeine.[1]
