The Aras (Persie: ارس‎), an aa kent as Araks (Armenie: Արաքս), Yeraskh (Classical Armenie: Երասխ), Araxes (Greek: Αράξης), Aras (in Turkis and Kurdish),[1] Araz (in Azerbaijani), is a river in an alang the kintras o Turkey, Armenie, Azerbaijan, an Iran. It drains the sooth side o the Lesser Caucasus Moontains an then jyns the Kura River which drains the north side o those moontains. Its tot lenth is 1,072 kilometres (666 mi). Gien its lenth an a basin that covers an aurie o 102,000 square kilometres (39,000 sq mi), it is ane o the lairgest rivers o the Caucasus.
