Anton Ulrich, Duke o Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel
Anton Ulrich, Duke o Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (4 October 1633 – 27 Mairch 1714), a member o the Hoose o Welf, wis Duke o Brunswick-Lüneburg and ruling Prince o Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel frae 1685 until 1702 jointly with his aulder brither Rudolph Augustus, and solely from 1704 until his daith. He wis ane o the main proponents o enlightened absolutism among the Brunswick dukes. He wis born in Hitzacker, then the residence o his faither Duke Augustus the Younger o Brunswick-Lüneburg (1579–1666) an his seicont wife Princess Dorothea o Anhalt-Zerbst (1607–1634). The next year his father, at the age of 55, assumed the rule in the Principality o Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel efter his Welf cousin Duke Frederick Ulrich haed died withoot issue.
