Al-Nabk haes been mentioned bi Arab geographers frae the 12t tae 13t centuries CE. Ibn Jubayr recordit that it wis a veelage north o Damascus "wi hintle runnin watter an broad arable fields." Yaqut al-Hamawi wrote in 1225 that "is a fine veelage wi excellent proveesions... There is here a curious spring which runs cauld in the simmer, an wi clear, excellent water. They say its source is at Yabrud."[2]
