Aleksander Danilovich Menshikov (Roushie: Алекса́ндр Дани́лович Ме́ншиков, tr. Aleksándr Danílovič Ménšikov; 16 November [A.S. 6 November] 1673 – 23 November [A.S. 12 November] 1729) wis a Roushie statesman, whose official teetles included Generalissimus, Prince o the Roushie Empire and Duke o Izhora (Duke o Ingria), Prince o the Haly Roman Empire, Duke o Cosel. A highly appreciated associate an friend o Tsar Peter the Great, he was the de facto ruler o Roushie for twa years. He constructed the Menshikov Pailace, in saunt Petersburg. He also commisioned the Grand Menshikov Pailace on the Gulf o Finland near the Peterhof Pailace.
