Abū Jaʿfar Abdullāh al-Maʾmūn ibn Harūn (an aa spelled Almamon, Al-Maymun, Al-Ma’moon,[2] Mahmoun[3] an el-Mâmoûn (15 September 786 – 9 August 833) wis an Abbasid caliph who reigned frae 813 till his daith in 833.
