Ahmed Hassan Zewail (Egyptian Arabic: أحمد حسن زويل, IPA: [ˈæħmæd ˈħæsæn zeˈweːl]; Februar 26, 1946 – August 2, 2016) wis an Egyptian-American scientist, kent as the "faither o femtochemistry".[3] He wis awairdit the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his wirk on femtochemistry an acame the first Egyptian tae win a Nobel Prize in a scienteefic field. He wis the Linus Pauling Chair Professor o Chemistry, Professor o Pheesics, an the director o the Physical Biology Center for Ultrafast Science an Technology at the Californie Institute o Technology.
