Ad hominem

An ad hominem (Laitin for "tae the man" or "tae the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a general category o fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejectit on the basis o some irrelevant fact aboot the author o or the person presentin the claim or argument.[2]
