Ronnie O'Sullivan wis the defendin champion, havin won the 2013 event defeatin Barry Hawkins in the feenal. Mark Selby won the event tae captur his first Warld title bi defeatin O'Sullivan 18–14 in the feenal. This wis Selby's fowert rankin title, an aw completin the Triple Crown o Warld Championship, UK Championship, and Masters titles. Neil Robertson secured the heichest brak o the toornament, a 140. Robertson scored his 100th century brak o the saison in his quarter-feenal win ower Judd Trump. The event featurit a prize fund o £1,214,000 wi the winner receivin £300,000.
