Zelzate is dividit intae twa pairts bi the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal. There is a concrete drawbridge an a tunnel tae connect the twa sides. Zelzate is kent for the nearbi pollutin industry, which maks it the veelage wi the lawest air quality in the kintra. Recently ArcelorMittal Ghent (Sidmar) made a major investment which resultit in an emission decrease o 90%.
