Varand (born 10 Mairch 1954, Tehran) is the pen name o Soukias Hacob Koorkchian (Persie: سوکیاس هاکوب کورکجیانArmenie: Վարանդ Քիւրքչեան) a Iranian poet, playwricht, leericist, author, translator an painter o Armenie strynd. He haes publisht 27 collections o poetry syne 1972.

Varand wis honoured as Professor o Armenie leeteratur bi the Grigor Lusavoritch Varsity o Etchmiadzin, Armenie in 2001. He translates baith Persie classics as well as modren poetry intae the Armenie leid.

Varand wis the chairman o the Armenie Writers Society o Iran foondit in 1961 for ower ten years, while recently electit chairman o the buird for the organisation. He is the editor in chairge o the cultural depairtment at Armenie daily newspaper o “Alik” an aw, an honorar member o the Writers Union o Armenie in Yerevan an the professor o the Armenie leeteratur at Azad Varsity o Foreign Leids in Tehran.
