But thay dae bide in Belfast an they dae hae some authority. A'm no sayin that we shoudna chynge the airticle tae Belfast but Bilfawst shoud be at laist mentioned. Thay is the naurest that there is tae an Academy for "Northren Irish" Scots sae whan it comes tae Northren Irish things we shoud gie them a wheen o respect by at laist mentionin thair name for the stuff, like we hae duin wi Norlin Airlann. But this is defeatist, the spelling "Bilfawst" reflects how "Belfast" is pronounced in Ulster-Scots *to an English ear*, using English conventions. In fact, the unstressed 'e' in Ulster-Scots is *always* pronounced nearer /i/, and the stressed 'a' is always long. Scots speakers know this anyway!"
