[edit] Introduction

Designed as a Honda test track in 1962 bi John Hugenholtz, Suzuka is ane o few circuits in the warld to hae a figure 8 layout. Due to the obvious danger it woud present, the track doesna atually intersect with itself; instead, the back straight passes over the front section bi means o an overpass.

The circuit can be uised in three configurations; the full circuit, the "Suzuka East" an "Suzuka Wast" configuration. The "East" portion o the course consists o the pit straight to the first half o the Dunlop curve (turn 7), before leadin back to the pit straight via a tight right-hander. The "Wast" course is made up o the ither part o the full circuit, with the pitlane located at the straight before the 130R corner. Both the "Suzuka East" and "Suzuka Wast" configurations do not include the Casio Triangle chicane.
