Sagua La Grande (La Villa del Undoso) is a municipality an ceety locatit on the north coast o the province o Villa Clara in central Cuba, on the Sagua la Grande River. The ceety is close to Mogotes de Jumagua, limestane cliffs. Mony cays o the Sabana-Camaguey Airchipelago are locatit aff the northren coast.

Sagua la Grande wis foondit in 1812[1] an established as a municipality in 1842. Bi the beginnin o the 20t century, the ceety an its port (Isabela de Sagua), wur an important commercial center. Presently, its economy is based on the sugar, chemical, mechanical, an fuid industries. Cattle raisin an fishin are ither important economic activities.

The municipality is dividit intae the barrios of Baire, Chinchila, Este, General Nodarse, Isabela de Sagua, Jumagua, Malpáez, Oeste an Sitiecito.[1]

Ane o the maist bonnie biggins in this ceety, El Casino Español (The Spanish Casino) built in 1908, wis the meetin place for the Sociedad Sagüera (Social Club o Sagua). The historical center o the ceety retains the neoclassic essence o its constructions an the layoot o its streets.
