The center o Rostov-on-Don is locatit c. 1076 km (2006) sootheast frae Moscow. It is situatit tae the sootheast frae the East European Plain, maistly on the richt bank o the Don river, 46 km frae its confluence wi the Sea o Azov. Sooth-Wastren suburbs o the ceety side wi the delta o the Don river.
