Raseborg (Finnish: Raasepori‎) is a toun an municipality o Finland. It wis creatit on 1 January 2009, when the municipalities o Ekenäs, Karis an Pohja wur consolidatit intae a single toun.[6]

The toun haes a population o 29,014 (31 August 2013)[2] an covers an aurie o 2,354.17 square kilometres (908.95 sq mi) of which 1,206.47 km2 (465.82 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population density is [convert: invalid number].

The name o the new toun is based on the Castle o Raseborg locatit in Ekenäs, or umwhile in the municipality o Snappertuna. Historically the name o the coonty wis Raseborg in the 14t century an aw.

The toun is bilingual, wi majority (66.2%) being Swadish an minority (31%) Finnish speakers.

In Februar 2011, Raseborg Municipality entered intae a "Friendship Co-operation Agreement" wi Makana Municipality in Sooth Africae. The project, which is tae last three years, seeks tae facilitate information sharin in the fields o economic development, airts & cultur, weemen development, youth development, an education.[7]
