Andorrae consists o seiven commonties kent as pairishes (Catalan: parròquies, singular – parròquia). Till relatively recently, it haed anerlie sax pairishes; the seivent, Escaldes-Engordany, wis creatit in 1978.

Some pairishes hae a further territorial subdiveesion. Ordino, La Massana an Sant Julià de Lòria are subdividit intae quarts (quairters), while Canillo is subdividit intae 10 veïnats (neebourheids). Those maistly coincide wi veelages, which are foond in aw pairishes.

Each pairish haes its awn electit mayor who is the nominal heid o the local govrenment kent as a comú in Catalan.
