Paraffin wax is a white or colorless saft solid derivable frae petroleum, coal or shale, that consists o a mixtur o hydrocarbon molecules containin atween twenty an forty carbon atoms. It is solid at ruim temperatur an begins tae melt abuin approximately 37 °C (99 °F);[1] its boilin point is >370 °C (698 °F).[2]
