Orléans (pronounced: [ɔʁleɑ̃]) is a ceety in north-central France, about 130 km soothwast o Paris. It is the caipital o the Loiret depairtment an o the Centre region.
Orléans is locatit on the Loire River where the river curves sooth towards the Massif Central.
The ceety o New Orleans (still cried in French La Nouvelle-Orléans), in the Unitit States is named efter the commune of Orléans.
