The municipality comprises the touns o Balegem, Gijzenzele, Landskouter, Moortsele, Oosterzele proper an Scheldewindeke. On Januar 1, 2006 Oosterzele haed a total population o 13,172. The total aurie is 43.12 km² which gives a population density o 305 inhabitants per km².
