Newcastle Unitit Fitbaa Club (also kent as The Magpies, or The Toon) ar a Inglis Premier League fitbaa club based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The club wis foondit in 1892 after the merger o twa local clubs, Newcastle East End and Newcastle Wast End. Heestorically they hae wan 4 First Division titles an 6 FA Cups, the Inter-Ceeties Fairs Cup in 1969 an the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2006.
After unification o the East End an Wast End clubs, Newcastle Unitit continued to play in East End's red until 1894 when they adopted the now iconic black an white striped shirts, with black shorts an socks to avoid frequent colour clashes.
Newcastle haes a lang-standing rivalry with neighbouring Sunderland with whom they hae contested the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898.
