The Municipality o Ig (Slovene: Občina Ig) is a municipality in central Slovenie. Its seat is the dounset o Ig. It wis shapit in 1995 frae pairts o the Municipality o Vič–Rudnik, till then ane o the five municipalities that shapit the Ceevic Assembly o Municipalities o Ljubljana. It is pairt o the tradeetional region o Inner Carniola an is nou includit in the Central Slovenie Statistical region. In the past the aurie wis maistly mairshland, but nou Ig is a suburban an industrialisit municipality.[2] In 2002, it haed 5445 inhabitants.[3]
