Molise (pronounced [moˈliːze]) (Molisano: Mulise) is a region o Soothren Italy, the seicont smawest o the regions. It wis umwhile (till 1963) pairt o the region o Abruzzi e Molise (wi Abruzzo) an nou a separate entity. The region covers 4,438 km² an haes a population o aboot 300,000.
Molise is the newest Italian region, syne it wis established in 1963, when the region Abruzzi e Molise wis split in twa. It became effective anerlie in 1970.
