Merelbeke is a municipality locatit in the Flemish province o East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprises the veelages o Bottelare, Lemberge, Melsen, Merelbeke proper, Munte an Schelderode. On Januar 1, 2006, Merelbeke haed a total population o 22,353. The total aurie is 36.65 km² which gives a population density o 610 inhabitants per km².
