The Castle o the Teutonic Order in Malbork[1] (Pols: zamek w Malborku; German: Ordensburg Marienburg) is the lairgest castle in the warld bi surface aurie, an the lairgest brick biggin in Europe.[2] It wis biggit in Prussia bi the Teutonic Knights, a German Roman Catholic releegious order o crusaders, in a furm o an Ordensburg fortress. The Order named it Marienburg (Mary's Castle). The toun which grew aroond it wis an aa named Marienburg.

The castle is a classic example o a medieval fortress an, on its completion in 1406, wis the warld's lairgest brick castle.[3] UNESCO designatit the "Castle o the Teutonic Order in Malbork" an the Malbork Castle Museum as the Warld Heritage Steid in December 1997.[4] It is ane o twa Warld Heritage Steids in the region wi origins in the Teutonic Order. The ither is the "Medieval Toun o Toruń", foondit in 1231 as the steid o the castle Thorn (Toruń).
